Agreement and eligibility
By using this website or purchasing an offering through it, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the purchase or booking services.
Heart Center LA operates the commercial and administrative services described here for Jay Dubois and is the merchant shown at Stripe checkout. Purchases and private sessions are available only to people who are at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement.
Educational and coaching scope
Website content, Stop Leaking Power, The Human Capacity Project, and private sessions provide educational information, reflection, and coaching. They are not psychotherapy, couples therapy, medical care, legal advice, mediation, crisis services, or a substitute for a qualified professional.
No result is promised. Jay cannot guarantee another person’s cooperation, the outcome of a relationship, a custody result, or any particular personal or professional change. You remain responsible for your decisions, communications, safety, and use of the information.
Do not use the website, email, or booking forms for an emergency. Contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource if immediate help is needed.
Book purchases and preorders
Book prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. A preorder is charged when checkout is completed, even though the book is not yet available for shipment. Any publication or availability date is an estimate and may change for production, printing, or fulfillment reasons.
The $19.99 preorder price includes any sales tax Heart Center LA is required to collect. Any shipping charge will be shown before payment. The checkout will also state the available shipping destinations and quantity limits. Those transaction-specific terms are part of your purchase.
You may cancel a preorder for a full refund at any time before it ships. After shipment, book sales are final except when a copy arrives damaged, defective, or different from the item ordered, or when applicable law provides another remedy. Report a damaged, defective, or incorrect copy within 14 days after delivery so that a replacement or refund can be arranged. If a material fulfillment change affects an order, reasonable notice and the options required by applicable law will be provided.
You are responsible for supplying an accurate email and delivery address. Contact clarity@jayduboisphd.com promptly if order information needs correction.
Private sessions
The private-session package consists of four 60-minute sessions for a total price of $800 USD. You pay for the package and schedule the first appointment through the checkout and booking flow. The remaining three sessions are arranged afterward. Sessions are ordinarily held online through Google Meet.
- Cancellation or rescheduling requires at least 24 hours’ notice.
- A refund request must be made at least 24 hours before the first scheduled session.
- No refund is available after the first session has begun.
- A missed appointment without timely cancellation uses one of the four session credits.
If Jay must cancel or cannot provide the purchased package, the affected session will be rescheduled or the undelivered portion will be refunded as appropriate. You are responsible for a working device, internet connection, private environment, and timely attendance.
Communications
By placing an order or booking a session, you agree to receive transactional messages needed to provide that service, including payment, order, scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, and support notices. Marketing email requires a separate choice and may be unsubscribed from at any time.
Information you submit
You agree to provide accurate information and to submit only information you are authorized to provide. Do not submit another person’s confidential information without permission. Information submitted through purchase and booking forms may be used to process the transaction, coordinate services, and communicate with you as described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You may not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, use automated systems to burden the service, impersonate another person, commit fraud, or use the site in violation of law or another person’s rights.
Access may be limited or suspended when reasonably necessary to protect the website, its users, service providers, or legal rights.
Intellectual property
The website’s text, design, graphics, photographs, videos, exercises, book material, and other original content are owned by or licensed to Jay Dubois or Heart Center LA and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may access them for personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, publish, modify, or create derivative commercial materials without written permission, except where law permits.
Third-party services and links
The site uses or links to services operated by WordPress.com, Stripe, Brevo, Pabbly, Calendly, Google, and other providers. Their terms and privacy policies govern their services. We are not responsible for an independent third party’s website, availability, or conduct, but we remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The website is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no warranty is made that the site will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Rights and warranties that cannot legally be excluded remain in effect.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jay Dubois and Heart Center LA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or an offering. Any aggregate liability arising from a paid offering will not exceed the amount you paid for the offering giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court with appropriate jurisdiction in Los Angeles County, California, unless applicable consumer law requires another forum.
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and any transaction-specific terms presented before purchase form the agreement for use of the site and the relevant offering.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the website, offerings, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised. Changes apply prospectively unless applicable law permits otherwise; terms accepted for a completed purchase continue to govern that purchase.
